Event Details
This year, The Ivy Clifton Brasserie is thrilled to announce a partnership with the National Literacy Trust in celebration of World Book Day, taking place Thursday, 1 March 2018, with an intimate reading and afternoon tea with much-loved author Sian Norris. Between 4:00pm and 6:00pm, guests will be transported into the world of Greta and Boris: A Daring Rescue, followed by a delicious afternoon tea set menu.

A limited number of tickets will be available for families to see the talented Sian – who lives in Bishopston - read one of her favourite extracts from her first book, Greta and Boris. The event is being held to commend authors and illustrators, and to encourage children to read books, whilst raising awareness of the low literacy levels in the UK. Guests are invited to enjoy the experience accompanied by an indulgent afternoon tea within The Ivy Clifton Brasserie, with all ticket sales being donated to the National Literacy Trust.

Perfectly timed to ensure children can make it from school, the package is bound to be hugely popular on this special day, the first time the family friendly restaurant has recognised such an important charitable cause. World Book Day has been growing in popularity over the last few years and has become one of the UK’s most celebrated occasions. National Literacy Trust research found that the day provides a quarter of eight to 11-year-olds in the UK with their very first chance to buy a book of their own.
A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase from Eventbrite. Package is priced at £20 per person and includes the reading and afternoon tea, with all proceeds donated to charity.
